About me

Hello! I'm Èric! If you're on my website, you probably already know me a little bit, but just in case, let me tell you some things.

I professionally define myself as a performing arts actor, creator and producer. If you scroll down, I'll tell you a little bit about what I've done in each of these areas.

I have a degree in Textual Interpretation at the ESAD of the Institut del Teatre, and I have completed the Performing Arts Production course offered by Xarxa de Productores at Nau Ivanow and Fabra i Coats.

I am a co-founder and member of La Beatriz, my theater company. With the company, we have created, produced and premiered five shows: "Gossos" (2018), "Only Love Can Hurt Like This" (2018-2019), "Let Me Down Slowly" (2020-2021), "Disset Anys" (2021) and "Perfectia" (2022).

Aside from projects with my company, I take every opportunity to work on other projects, both performing arts and audiovisuals, or any other discipline if needed!

Here’s a little more about what I’ve done in each of these areas.

Actor

In the field of performing arts, I have participated in various theater projects: personal creations, other people or companies' creations, theatrical productions based on a text, dramatized readings and performances.

My most recent works include "Perfectia" (2022, Teatre La Gleva), La Beatriz's last creation; “El Rei Lear” (2019, Nau Ivanow), an adaptation of Shakespeare's classic directed by Ferran Utzet; “HERE” (2018, Sala Beckett and Volksbühne Berlin), a simultaneous show between Barcelona and Berlin directed by Marina Prados and Paula Knüpling; “Only Love Can Hurt Like This” (2019, Porta 4) and “Let Me Down Slowly” (2020, Barts / 2021, Teatre del Raval), the Afflictus diptych we have created with La Beatriz.

I received the second prize for Best Actor (Emerging Section) of the XII Festival Mutis for my performance in "Let Me Down Slowly", and the New Actor Prize at the 23rd Mostra de Teatre de Barcelona for my performance in “Only Love Can Hurt Like This”.

In the audiovisual field, I have also participated in various projects: short films, such as "Aquí descansa" (2022), directed by Berta Amigó and Robert Cortés or “deadpavo” (2020), directed by Lucía Leon, Enric Llonch, Judit Serral and Júlia Gaitano, brief appearances in TV3 and Minoria Absoluta’s “Polònia”, TV3's series "Com si fos ahir" and other audiovisual products (booktrailers, advertisements, commercials, ...). In the radio field, I'm participating as an actor in the fictional podcast "L'entresòl" (2022), directed by Rafel Plana and produced by Catalunya Ràdio and iCat FM.

Creator

As an actor, I consider myself a creator in all the shows I participate in, but apart from that, I’m also interested in putting my concerns on stage and the concerns I share with my peers.

I have created different projects with my theatre company, La Beatriz: "Perfectia" (2022, Teatre La Gleva), which we created, diected and performed; "Disset Anys” (2021, Barts and El Maldà), of which I assumed the stage direction, as well as co-creation; “Only Love Can Hurt Like This” (2019, Porta 4) and “Let Me Down Slowly” (2020, Barts / 2021, Teatre del Raval), the Afflictus diptych, which I co-created and co-performed; and “Gossos” (2018, Convent de Sant Agustí), which I co-created and acted as assistant director and producer.

Nowadays I'm reactivating a personal creation, "La Por a la Pell" (2022, Auditori Sant Ildefons), a monologue created with Clara Manyós, Blanca Garcia Lladó and Quim Bigas and with the collaboration of Nus Cooperativa about the awakening of a childhood traumatic experience.

I have also participated in several editions of the Sala Beckett's youth theatre laboratory, Els Malnascuts.

"Disset Anys" received the nomination for Best Small-Format Musical at the V Premis Teatre Barcelona. "Let Me Down Slowly" received the Special Jury Mention (Emerging Section) and the nominations for Best Play (Emerging Section) and Best Direction (Emerging Section) by Anna Barrufet and Èric Pons at the XII Festival Mutis, and won the Audience Award for best show at the 25th Mostra de Teatre de Barcelona, as well as being nominated for Best Show by the jury of the edition. "Only Love Can Hurt Like This” was awarded at the 23rd Mostra de Teatre de Barcelonawith the Jury's Special Prize “for its freshness, originality and honesty, and for sharing the point of view of a generation”.

Producer

When it came to working on my company’s projects, we needed for some of the members to do the production tasks, and I started doing it naturally. Since then, I have been discovering production work as an essential part of the creative process. That is why, most of the time I develop the role of producer, I do it in parallel to the role of assistant director, since I do not conceive the production without the artistic involvement in the project and without understanding it in its entirety.

I've been developing my role as a producer for a couple of years now. I am responsible of the artistic production of La Beatriz, my theatre company, and all the projects we create. In addition, I have worked as an assistant director and producer on other projects, such as “Festival Important” (2019, Sala Beckett), one of the editions of Els Malnascuts in which I participated, which consisted of a three-week festival with five stage pieces made up with a team of 30 people, and “La Consagració de la Primavera” (2020, Teatre Ovidi Montllor), a dance-theater piece directed by Georgina Surià. I have also run the artistic production of "Todo Bien" (2022, Barts), a musical show about the anxiety directed by Aina Lluch and David G. Llop.
