My name is Èric Pons and I am an actor, creator and teacher of performing arts. I started doing theatre when I was 6 years old and, since then, I haven't been able to stop. I love to see how theatre gives space to life so that it can enter and transform itself through artistic vision. I understand theatre as a space of encounter in which there is a constant dialogue between the one who looks and the one who is seen, a space where to give voice to what is not seen.

I graduated in Textual Interpretation at the ESAD of the Institut del Teatre and I have been complementing my training with acting courses with Javier Daulte, Elena Fortuny and Sandra Monclús, stage creation and performance with Elena Baliarda, Alberto Cortés and Oskar Luko, autofictional dramaturgy with María Velasco and production with the Xarxa de Productores, among others.

I am a founding member of La Beatriz, with which we have created, produced and premiered the shows ‘La Por a la Pell’ (2025, La Gleva Teatre), ‘Perfectia’ (2022, La Gleva Teatre), ‘Disset Anys’ (2021, Barts and El Maldà), ‘Let Me Down Slowly’ (2020-2021, Barts and Teatre del Raval), ‘Only Love Can Hurt Like This’ (2018-2019, Teatre del Raval and Porta 4) and ‘Gossos’ (2018, Convent de Sant Agustí).

I am also part of NUS Cooperativa, working to raise awareness and transform social inequalities and violence through the theatre of the oppressed and other creative, participatory and experiential methodologies. With NUS, I participate in the theatre-forum shows ‘És de conya’, ‘#1000LIKES’ and ‘Monòlegs a la plaça’ and I also carry out other kinds of actions, workshops and tailor-made proposals.

As a performer, I have also participated in projects such as ‘Lunar Ensemble for Uprising Seas’ (2024-2025, MACBA), ‘Parsifal’ (2024, Institut del Teatre), ‘Turandot’ (2023, Gran Teatre del Liceu), ‘Brexshit’ (2021, La Farinera del Clot), ‘El Rei Lear’ (2019, Nau Ivanow), or “Here” (2018, Sala Beckett i Volksbühne Berlin), among others, and I have participated in several editions of Els Malnascuts, the young creation laboratory of Sala Beckett, between 2018 and 2023.

I have been awarded the runner-up prize for Best Actor at the XII Festival Mutis for ‘Let Me Down Slowly’, and I received the Revelation Performer Award at the 23rd Mostra de Teatre de Barcelona for ‘Only Love Can Hurt Like This’. As a creator, the show ‘Disset Anys’ received the nomination for Best Musical Small-format Show at the V Premis Teatre Barcelona; the show ‘Let Me Down Slowly’ received the Jury's Special Mention and the nominations for Best Play and Best Direction at the XII Festival Mutis, and won the 25th Mostra de Teatre de Barcelona Audience Award for Best Show, as well as being nominated for Best Show by the jury of the edition; and the show ‘Only Love Can Hurt Like This’ was awarded at the 23rd Mostra de Teatre de Barcelona with the Special Jury Prize ‘for its freshness, originality and honesty, and for sharing the point of view of a generation’.

I combine my work in the performing arts with my work in the audiovisual field, participating in projects such as ‘Com si fos ahir’, ‘Polònia’ or the most recent ‘L'entresòl’ (2023), a fictional podcast by 3cat , Catalunya Ràdio and iCat Fm, and with my work as a theatre teacher, accompanying begginer groups for both children and adults, and theatre groups.
